The European Association of Co-operative Banks (EACB) represents, promotes and defends the interests of 2,700 co-operative banks across Europe, serving over 227 million customers and contributing to a more inclusive, sustainable and diversified banking model through advocacy at EU and global level.

ABOUT POSITION:

The EACB is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented trainee to join the Retail Banking, Payments, Financial Markets and Digitalisation Team and support its policy and advocacy work related to EU regulatory developments affecting retail banking and consumers.

During your traineeship you will be a full member of a committed and collaborative team working on important policy files regarding financial consumer protection, payments, financial markets, and digitalisation.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring EU regulatory and policy developments in relevant areas;

  • Supporting the team’s advocacy efforts and stakeholder engagement, including outreach to EU institutions and other actors;

  • Conducting research and drafting summaries of reports, publications, or consultations of interest to our members;

  • Preparing materials for internal and external meetings (briefing notes, slides, minutes, etc.);

  • Assisting with the logistical and administrative organisation of meetings and events;

  • Providing ad hoc support to other team members depending on priorities and workload.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eligibility for an Erasmus+ traineeship grant;

  • A strong interest in EU affairs;

  • Excellent command of English (C1 minimum, both written and spoken);

  • Command of Microsoft Office Package (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc..);

  • A Master’s degree (or current enrolment) in Law, Political Science, EU Affairs, Economics, Finance, or a related field;

  • Minimum knowledge of EU law, institutions, and decision-making processes;

  • A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn in a professional environment;

  • Previous traineeship experiences, knowledge of banking and finance, and of other EU languages is a plus but not mandatory.
