As a food company, we are at the forefront of the transition to another, more sustainable, food supply. We want to make a difference by reducing our negative impacts to the highest possible extent and by maximising our positive contributions wherever possible. The Vandemoortele Group reports its financial and sustainability results twice a year.

To support these efforts we are currently looking for a Sustainability Reporting Officer who will help to collect and report the ESG data in a way that meets the company but also audit and legal requirements. This role reports to the Group Sustainability Manager.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?

Data management

  • You will play a key role in supporting our sustainability initiatives by collecting and reporting on consolidated ESG data. This role will be accountable for consolidated data gathering, validation, and reporting to help the company achieve its sustainability goals and communicate its progress to stakeholders;

  • You will be an active participant in the definition of the KPIs managed by the company and helping to build them;

  • You will prepare reports and presentations summarizing key consolidated sustainability metrics and performance indicators;

  • You will be involved in initiatives to enhance sustainability data analytics (e.g. scenario planning, latest estimates,...) in cooperation with internal stakeholders and/or the IT department.


Reporting compliance

  • You will be responsible for bridging the gap between audit and legal requirements on the one hand, and the internal stakeholders on the other hand;

  • You will be actively maintaining and validating the documentation of the KPIs managed by the company, coordinating the internal stakeholders and keeping the documentation up-to-date;

  • You will be the single point of contact to provide input for a new sustainability dashboard and data lake (designed by the IT department) that meets the company expectations, audit and legal requirements;

  • You will be proactively suggesting and implementing improvements to data collection and reporting processes;

  • You will coordinate the execution of the non-financial audit for the annual report of Vandemoortele, incl. planning and internal coaching and communication.


Business Process Ownership

  • You will act as the Business Process Owner within sustainability. responsible for overseeing the sustainability business processes (end-to-end).


Project management support

  • Provide support in managing sustainability projects, from both a technical and administrative standpoint, and ability to collaborate in project teams in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies context;

  • Effectively plan and organize meetings, workshops, other key project deliverables. Advise on and contribute to specific project deliverables.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE'RE LOOKING FOR? 

  • You hold a Master degree with an analytical approach, e.g. in (Bio-)Engineering, Sciences, Business, Economics, … etc. An additional Master in e.g. Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, etc. is a strong asset;

  • You are familiar with sustainability reporting standards, frameworks and assessment bodies (such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, Ecovadis, CDP, …). You are eager to navigate complex regulations;

  • You are passionate about sustainability and food. That passion will motivate you to go the extra mile in engaging others;

  • You like to achieve objectives together;

  • You are a well-structured and strong communicator who thrives as a team player. You have excellent communication and convincing skills in English;

  • You can coordinate projects with multiple internal and external stakeholder;

  • You are highly analytical and can easily identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement;

  • Former experience in financial or non-financial auditing processes is a plus;

  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar) and experience with quantitative data analysis are a plus.
