ABOUT THE EPP GROUP:
The Group of the European People's Party (EPP Group) is the largest political group in the European Parliament. It brings together centre and centre-right pro-European political forces from the Member States of the EU, coming together to advance the goal of a more competitive and democratic Europe, closer to its citizens, and a social market economy. Its multinational Secretariat provides political, administrative and technical support to its MEPs.
DEPARTMENT:
The overall responsibility of the Social Media unit within the Campaigns Directorate is to ensure the EPP Group and its MEPs are well-represented online. This includes putting in place and maintaining the relevant infrastructure, daily communication online and running communications campaigns in line with the Group’s communication strategy.

The Social Media Assistant fulfils a supranational function within the EPP Group Secretariat and carries out, the following functions and duties:
The post of Social Media Assistant in the Secretariat of the EPP Group requires substantial availability (high frequency of meetings, irregular working hours), flexibility, and a meticulous approach. The selected candidates will play a crucial role in supporting the Group’s digital strategy by managing and creating compelling content for the social media platforms. Working closely with the Social Media Team Leader, the selected candidates will contribute to expanding the Group’s online presence, particularly on political issues, through the development and execution of creative campaigns. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate with various teams and adapt to fast-paced environments. The selected candidates will be responsible for producing high-quality multimedia content, coordinating social media efforts, and ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the posts.
Frequent travel outside the place of work is required, in particular several days per month in Strasbourg during the plenary session.

The Selection Committee will draw up a list of suitable candidates from among those who have obtained at least 60% of the points for the tests as a whole (written and oral combined) and have obtained the minimum mark required for each of them. The 6 best-scored candidates (2 of Croatian language, 2 of Finnish language and 2 of Spanish language) will be listed in order of merit. Being included on a list of suitable candidates does not constitute either a right to or a guarantee of recruitment.

CONDITIONS OF RECRUITMENT:
Candidates included on the list of suitable candidates will be eligible to be recruited as the need arises in the EPP Group.

- Assist in managing and scheduling posts across key social media platforms, ensuring alignment with the overall digital strategy and direction from the Social Media Team Leader;
- Develop and execute social media campaigns in line with EPP Group’s objectives;
- Create high-quality content, including graphics, stories, videos, and podcasts on political topics relevant to the EPP Group;
- Publish and manage multilingual content on the EPP Group’s website, ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity;
- Draft and edit content using CMS platforms, maintaining tone, style, and accuracy;
- Utilize social media tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Canva, Talkwalker, and Blink) for scheduling, creation, and social listening;
- Support content translation and proofreading for the website in Croatian, Finnish or Spanish;
- Contribute to development of Social Media Communication Plans;
- Write scripts for videos/podcasts and coordinate content development with designers and other creatives;
- Conduct interviews, prepare research notes, and stay updated on current events and digital trends;
- Adapt content strategies based on audience preferences and political/social developments;
- Ensure project alignment with budgets and timelines, coordinate external subcontractors, and assist with additional tasks as needed.

- A post-secondary education attested by a diploma followed by at least 3 year's fulltime professional experience similar to the duties as described in the job description OR a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to higher education followed by at least 6 years’ full-time relevant professional experience, out of which at least 3 years similar to the duties as described in the job description;
- Proficiency in Canva for designing visually engaging social media content;
- Experience using Hootsuite or similar social media management platforms for scheduling, monitoring, and reporting;
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to create on-brand, engaging content across different formats (text, video, podcasts);
- Knowledge of social listening tools (e.g., Talkwalker) to monitor conversations, trends, and brand sentiment online;
- Ability to work independently, managing projects with minimal supervision, while also contributing as part of a collaborative team;
- Solid understanding of social media analytics, with the ability to analyze data and produce performance reports to drive insights and improvement;
- Passion for social media trends and the political landscape, with a keen eye for relevant and timely content opportunities;
- A thorough knowledge of one of the following languages: Croatian, Finnish or Spanish (C2);
- For work purpose, a very good knowledge of English is required (C1);
- A knowledge of other EU languages would be an asset.
