The Berghof Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization supporting people in conflict in their efforts to achieve sustainable peace through conflict transformation and peacebuilding. YOUR MAIN TASKS:
- You oversee and lead strategic outreach and build strong partnerships with the EU (EEAS, Commission);
- You support and advise on funding opportunities to the EU, including grant-writing;
- You monitor relevant policy developments and funding mechanisms, build strong relationships and create new opportunities for collaboration;
- You coordinate Berghof Foundation’s internal contacts, touch points and relationships with EU actors and peacebuilding organisations and act as the first point of contact in Brussels;
- You build a systematic knowledge base and introduce suitable formats for advancing internal understanding of the EU;
- You advance evidence-based policy-influencing with MEPs and key decision-makers at EEAS and Commission, covering key themes such as insider mediation, the climate–conflict nexus and MHPSS and mediation;
- You provide advice on advocacy opportunities and lead the creation of policy positions and initiatives, in collaboration with senior advisors and like-minded organisations;
- You contribute to relevant discussions and regularly attend conferences and roundtables in the EU policy scene in Brussels.
YOUR PROFILE:
- You hold a Master degree within relevant fields such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations or similar;
- You have 7+ years relevant work experience, of which the majority working in Brussels;
- Proven experience in developing, negotiating and managing partnerships and coalitions with the EU, ideally in the field of peacebuilding/peace mediation;
- Experience in proposal writing and policy monitoring and trend spotting of relevant developments;
- Strong organizational and networking, communication and coordination skills;
- Excellent cross-functional and remote collaboration skills;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
