ABOUT FEDARENE:

The European Federation of Agencies and Regions for Energy and the Environment (FEDARENE) is a leading European network of regional energy agencies. We facilitate the development of interregional partnerships and projects, promote the regional dimension in debates on sustainable energy and the environment, and help regions develop their capacity to take action for the energy and climate transition. We offer a position with responsibility and focus on EU projects’ activities within a well-established European association (35 years), representing members from 25 European countries and active in one of the most strategic areas of current European politics.

YOUR MISSION:

You will mainly be involved in FEDARENE’s activities in EU-funded projects & initiatives focusing on energy communities. You will also be involved in the roll-out of FEDARENE’s services to its members.

Tasks 

  • Coordinate the work of a network of experts (organise training sessions, monitor their work and support them in all their activities);

  • Design and implement a communication strategy for an EU initiative on citizen-led renovation;

  • Coordinate the work of a network of communications experts (organise training sessions, monitor their work and support them in all their activities);

  • Organise events (webinars and capacity-building workshops) from start to end (planning, implementation and reporting) and support the organisation of high-level events;

  • Draft deliverables and ensure an efficient and on-time delivery of all outputs, including technical & financial reports;

  • Support the overall roll-out of FEDARENE’s services to its members and especially the working group on energy communities;

  • Support other colleagues in the implementation of their EU projects’ activities.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field;

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role. What we will evaluate positively is experience in the following areas:



  1. Implementation of EU-funded projects or initiatives (Contract of services, Horizon Europe, Interreg, LIFE…);

  2. Hands-on experience with energy communities or citizen energy projects;

  3. Event organisation (multiple formats);

  4. Communications skills.


SKILLS:

  • High-quality planning, organisation, and time management skills;

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office package, especially MS Excel;

  • Ability to deeply understand technical issues and to translate them for a broader public understanding;

  • Strong communication and analytical skills;

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment;

  • Fluency in spoken and written English at a C1 minimum level; Knowledge of other EU languages (C1) is considered an asset;

  • Interest and knowledge about energy communities;

  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.


WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Full-time employment in our office in Brussels, Belgium (contract under the Belgian Law). Initial contract of 12 months. Please note that only candidates with the right to work in the EU will be considered;

  • Teleworking is possible several days a week, but you will be required to come to the office weekly. Full remote working is not possible;
