ABOUT EUROHEALTHNET:

EuroHealthNet is the European Partnership for health, equity, and wellbeing. It consists of over 80 bodies from European countries responsible for public health and health promotion in Europe. From our office in Brussels, we coordinate policy, advocacy, research and capacity building activities which help address health inequalities and positively affect the determinants of health. There are currently 21 highly skilled colleagues in the office plus rotating internships, all of whom contribute to an active, diverse and dynamic work environment. You can read about our work at www.eurohealthnet.eu.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

EuroHealthNet’s activities take place across three complementary platforms covering policy, practice and research. A core management and administration team unifies and builds connections between the platforms. Within the core team, communications activities amplify the messages and expertise of the EuroHealthNet Partnership.

The Senior Project Coordinator sits within EuroHealthNet‘s Research Platform. The Research Platform aims to identify and promote evidence-based approaches to improving health, equity and wellbeing, principally as part of pan-European research projects funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe programme.

The main aim of the position is to lead EuroHealthNet’s contribution to three Horizon Europe projects focusing on environmental health. Other activities may arise related to feeding insights from the research projects into EuroHealthNet’s policy and advocacy work, or supporting colleagues with expertise as needed.

The Senior Project Coordinator works in close collaboration with three colleagues in the Research Platform and will report directly to the management team.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Project Coordinator will lead EuroHealthNet’s contribution in three Horizon Europe research projects. In each project, the Senior Project Coordinator is supported by one or two colleagues. Key tasks to achieve during this period for each project are listed below.

Resonate project

RESONATE investigates the impact of nature-based therapy (NbT) on health, environment, society, and the economy. EuroHealthNet is leading a work package analysing the health equity impacts of the initiative’s case studies, and developing greater clarity about the challenges, barriers, needs, and opportunities of implementing NbT.

Main tasks – in collaboration with Research Officer (key support) and Project Officer:

  • Organise and facilitate three workshops in the context of a Health Impact Assessment exploring the distributional health impacts of three NbT Case Studies in Copenhagen, Uppsala and the Netherlands – working with local partners;

  • Work with the Research Officer to set up and run a survey in three Case Studies (Padova, Barcelona, Salzburg) exploring similar issues;

  • Begin analysis of qualitative data from six workshops and the survey and liaise with a partner (University of Vienna) for carrying out quantitative analysis for us;

  • Supervise and support Project Officer in planning and conducting 10-15 interviews with health professionals across Europe to discuss their views on NbTs. Support from other colleagues may be envisaged for language issues.

Best-COST project

BEST-COST aims to improve methodologies for understanding the socioeconomic cost of environmental stressors, with a focus on air and noise pollution. EuroHealthNet leads on communications, dissemination and policy activities.

Main tasks – in collaboration with Climate & Health Communications Officer (key support) and Senior Communications Coordinator:

  • Organise a Research Hackathon to explore transferability of BEST-COST methodologies to other environmental stressors;

  • Write a factsheet on cost-effectiveness approaches and research results (monetising and discounting health loss estimates in burden of disease), working with the Senior Communications Coordinator on the design;

  • Plan and start to organise (e.g., identifying stakeholders, developing agenda, sending invitations, planning presentations, etc.) a series of three capacity-building workshops and one EU policy workshop (taking place in February-April 2026);

  • Supervise Climate & Health Communications Officer in routine communication & dissemination activities (e.g., website, social media, newsletter, etc.), and monitoring and sharing policy and events updates with the consortium;

  • Supervise Climate & Health Communications Officer to organise an online meeting to discuss cost-effectiveness of policies and practices – working with local partners.

BlueAdapt project

BlueAdapt investigates how climate change affects coastal water and its impact on human health. EuroHealthNet is leading the policy activities.

Main tasks – in collaboration with Climate & Health Communications Officer:

  • Draft a Policy Brief, likely focusing on behaviour change (e.g., how are choices influenced by policies/ communications and how can policymaking help to foster behaviour change to protect people and ecosystem health) – alternatively, the brief will focus on cost-effectiveness of policy interventions to promote health in coastal environments;

  • Organise a small workshop to discuss the Policy Brief with EU stakeholders prior to publication;

  • Begin organising the project’s final conference (drafting agenda, identifying speakers, etc.) taking place in June 2026;

  • Supervise Climate & Health Communications Officer in monitoring and informing consortium about ongoing policy activities, and engage in advocacy activities as relevant (e.g., replying to public consultations, attending events).

PROFILE:

  • Educated to at least Masters’ level in a relevant field such as public health, environmental health, social and behavioural sciences, etc. Applicants with a PhD are welcome, although it is not a mandatory requirement;

  • At least 4 years’ experience in a project management role. You are used to working across multiple projects with different tasks and timelines and supervising a small team to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of outputs;

  • Previous experience with EU-funded projects such as Horizon Europe will be greatly valued, as will qualitative research expertise;

  • Understanding of and experience working on European policy. Ability to write policy briefs and factsheets for an EU policy audience;

  • Experience organising and facilitating events, comfortable presenting and engaging with different audiences;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
