MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Partnerships Officer will be actively contributing to fostering social inclusion of LGBTI people and the resourcing of ILGA-Europe’s work aimed at bringing legal, political and social change for LGBTI people across Europe and Central Asia, by working with individual donors and private sector partners (existing and prospect) within the framework of ILGA-Europe’s ethical fundraising standards. The person in this position will lead on the implementation of ILGA-Europe’s fundraising strategy with non-institutional donors, with a view of significantly increasing the organisation’s non-institutional donor base, and of ensuring the organisational capacity to attract and to retain non-institutional donors.
The person will be expected to implement activities to meet fundraising targets over the period of employment, including by strengthening existing fundraising initiatives (such as the annual European Equality Fundraiser and matching funding schemes), by significantly growing our existing base of individual donors and private sector partners, and by reaching out to new groups of supporters. The person will also be expected to play a role in capacity development of the European LGBTI movement by contributing expertise to skills building initiatives carried out by the team, and by providing advice towards resource mobilisation strategies for the movement.
This position is a temporary leave cover during the period of absence of the Partnerships Manager, with the expected employment period set as May 2025 – February 2026 (10 months), with a potential extension or transfer to a permanent position if sufficient resources are secured by the organisation (to be confirmed by December 2025).

WHAT WE OFFER:
Fixed-term position subject to continued funding for the post. Salary scale: from € 4,961.28 to € 5243.16 (gross) starting at the beginning of the scale, increasing annually. This annual salary is comprised of 12 months remuneration plus additional holiday pay paid out as of the second year of employment – the expected net monthly starting salary is approx. 3000€. The working week is 37.5 hours (5 days of 7.5h).

We offer flexible working hours and possibility to partially work from home, though the office in Brussels will be your main location of work. - Building the capacity of organisations to build and cultivate relationships with non-institutional donors.
Competences & Experience
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular ability to build meaningful relationships with potential and existing individual donors;
- Familiarity with various fundraising tools and tactics as well as ability to meet administrative and compliance requirements;
- Excellent communication skills (writing and spoken) for different target audiences, including a high standard of written and spoken English (other languages would be an asset);
- Demonstrated capacity to adapt to rapidly changing environments and to find innovative ways to respond to emerging organisational needs;
- Experience planning, coordinating and organising fundraising events;
- Experience of building organisational skills and capacity on fundraising;
- Knowledge of philanthropy and resource mobilisation in a European context;
- Capability to take initiative, to plan and work independently, while being a strong and dependable team player;
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills;
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team, and maintain excellent working relationships, in a high-paced environment;
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
- Sensitivity to working in a multicultural and diverse environment and commitment to promoting respect for equality and diversity, and ability to implement diversity into your everyday work;
- Experience using donor database software;
- Willingness to relocate to Brussels and to travel in Europe and Central Asia. The regular working week is Monday to Friday but on occasion travel and work during weekends will be required. All staff are required to work from the office in Brussels three days per week.
Additional Experience & knowledge
- Knowledge and experience of working with the LGBTI movement or other marginalised groups (highly desirable);
- Experience in organising and running peer learning and training sessions (highly desirable).
