ABOUT IRISH:

Irish Funds is looking for a Senior Associate to join our EU Affairs team in Brussels to support our advocacy activity and engagement with EU officials, legislators, regulators, and the diplomatic community.

As the third largest location for regulated investment funds globally, Ireland is an EU financial services centre of excellence and Irish Funds is a leading contributor to the debate on the Savings and Investments Union.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Associate will contribute to the Association’s intelligence gathering, monitoring and analysis of key policy developments impacting Irish Funds member firms and the wider asset management and investment funds industry. They will assist in the preparation and drafting of policy papers, advocacy documents, and general communications to policy officials. Under the direction of the Director – EU Affairs, they will be responsible for advocacy actions on specific policy issues with select EU officials. They will collaborate with colleagues across the Association to deliver timely and relevant member communications and support for the Association’s wider public affairs activity. They will support the Association’s efforts to expand our policy leadership in Brussels and to more effectively cover a broader range of strategic policy issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s university degree in Law, European Studies, Political Science, Economics, or other relevant degree;

  • At least 3 years of professional experience, ideally within an EU policy context or relevant corporate environment;

  • A strong understanding of EU policymaking and interest in EU and global politics. Experience working on EU financial services policy is an advantage;

  • Ability to quickly absorb and synthesise complex information. High level of accuracy and attention to detail;

  • Native or near-native level English proficiency, with fluency in another EU language to be considered an asset.
