ISDI (International Special Dietary Foods Industries) is the leading international expert association on special dietary foods. It brings together national and international associations active in this food sector from more than 20 countries on 6 continents. Special dietary foods cover a range of foods such as foods for infants and young children, foods for special medical purposes, sports foods and gluten-free foods, etc. Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, ISDI is an industry platform for debate on regulatory, technical and scientific issues regarding special dietary foods. As scientific and regulatory affairs officer for the federation, you will be part of the Secretariat, which advises and supports the Members and the Board and coordinates the implementation of their decisions. You will report directly to the Secretary General.

As scientific and regulatory affairs officer for the federation, you will be part of the Secretariat, which advises and supports the Members and the Board and coordinates the implementation of their decisions. You will report directly to the Secretary General.
POSITION:
The Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Officer will:
- Advocate on food safety and other issues relevant to ISDI;
- Develop and implement strategies for advocacy and projects;
- Manage certain ISDI working groups, projects and relations with stakeholders;
- Collect input and data from the ISDI membership;
- Draft position papers, consultation responses and other resources.
PROFILE:
- Completed higher education in a relevant field (most likely food science, food technology, food safety, nutrition or related studies);
- Previous work experience of at least 3 years, including some experience in food science, food safety or nutrition and some experience in EU affairs;
- Advanced knowledge of international context (Codex Alimentarius, EFSA, JECFA, FAO/WHO etc.);
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a variety of external stakeholders;
- Capacity to quickly understand technical content and relay it to different target groups;
- Keen interest in nutrition and health policies as well as international affairs;
- Strong drafting skills and an excellent command of English; other languages are a plus;
- Some experience managing projects and moderating meetings;
- Independent work style, service-minded, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with tight deadlines; attention to detail;
- Advanced end user IT skills;
- Legally entitled to work in Belgium.
