With unprecedented attention from policymakers, particularly under the new Commission mandate, biotechnology stands as a globally strategic sector, and EuropaBio is in a unique position to shape impactful regulatory frameworks for this dynamic industry.

EuropaBio, the leading voice for Europe’s thriving biotechnology sector, is seeking a highly motivated Regulatory and policy manager to join its Healthcare Biotech Team on an indefinite basis.

YOUR ROLE:

The role includes:

  • Serve as primary contact for the Regulatory Affairs and Access & Value Working Groups, engaging with EU regulators like the EMA and European Commission;

  • Develop and implement annual advocacy plans, ensuring alignment with Director/Director-General goals and reporting progress to the Healthcare Council;

  • Monitor and analyse EU policy, regulatory developments, and biotech trends; provide intelligence and updates to members and stakeholders;

  • Represent member priorities in EU healthcare and pharmaceutical regulation, including Biotech Act and cross-sector initiatives;

  • Coordinate with external trade associations (EFPIA, EUCOPE, ARM) on policy alignment, especially in OMP/ATMP areas;

  • Support EuropaBio’s role in European and international policy events, contributing to visibility and influence;

  • Manage and mentor junior healthcare team members (interns/coordinators) to support team effectiveness and growth.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will:

  • Enjoy the potential to grow by working alongside the EuropaBio team to lead initiatives and represent the Association to prospective members;

  • Be passionate about contributing to the development and activities of the association, engaging with members and EuropaBio Councils;

  • Be an effective communicator and team player, with the ability to collaborate with the EuropaBio teams to drive impactful initiatives;

  • Have a strong interest in and experience with the regulatory framework for medicines in Europe, with a preference for those who have industry experience, either directly or indirectly;

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of European and/or national policymaking, with at least 4-5 years of professional experience in European institutions, industry associations, companies, or consultancy firms, ideally with direct engagement with European institutions and/or EU stakeholders;

  • Possess a degree in EU affairs, public health, science, regulatory affairs, political science, law, or a related field within Healthcare Biotechnology;

  • Be fluent in both written and spoken English (working language), with additional EU languages considered an advantage; a high standard of both written and spoken English is essential for office communications;

  • Hold full authorization to work in Belgium;

  • Be available to start as soon as possible.
