HIVE asbl, is a Brussels-based non-profit organisation supporting a range of partners with strategies to engage in presumed “high-risk” countries. Our vision is to achieve a future where sustainable trade and investment in natural resources produce tangible benefits for communities, businesses, and consumers.

HIVE leverages the Datastake platform to develop information management systems tailored to our respective objectives.

  • Start Date: Mid-July 2024;

  • Primary Location: Lisbon or Brussels (remote positions may be considered);

  • Duration: initially 12 months.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Manager is in charge of administering projects, liaising with project partners coordinating the delivery of project objectives.

Initial scope: DRC, Artisanal & Small-scale Mining, human rights, Ecosystem preservation.

Tasks

  • Coordination of the successful implementation of specific projects / contracts;

  • Identification of funding opportunities and lead role in the application process when required;

  • Ensure that local partners achieve their objectives and expected results;

  • Regular debriefing and coordination with HIVE’s Executive team;

  • Support the financial manager;

  • Familiarisation with Datastake (incl. M&E and Consolidated Autonomous Due Diligence (CADD) applications).


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in International Development, Economics or political sciences;

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in managing international development projects;

  • At least one relevant work experience in weak governance countries;

  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies;

  • Fluent in English and French.


DESIRABLE:

  • Experience in the field of artisanal mining;

  • Experience in the field of tech innovation;

  • Good knowledge / interest in solving challenges related to Central Africa.
