ABOUT US:

Founded in Brussels in 1983, CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) is a leading think tank and forum for debate on EU affairs. CEPS’ distinguishing features include its independence, its strong in-house, multidisciplinary research capacity, and its extensive international network of partner institutes. CEPS’ funding comes from a variety of sources, mainly research grants, public procurement, but also from membership and conference fees.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will provide general support across the work of the CEPS Finance & Administration unit. More precisely, it will entail the following tasks:

  • Ensuring that each project’s cost overviews are up-to-date and correspond with information from the accounting system;

  • Checking with relevant colleagues that costs booked onto projects are complete and correct;

  • Verifying that project documentation is compliant with funding rules;

  • Providing assistance in preparing financial reports;

  • Providing assistance in setting up project budgets for internal use;

  • Facilitating the implementation of SalesForce across the organisation and seeing opportunities to refine or extend its scope;

  • Other administrative tasks as required.


YOUR BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or equivalent;

  • Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of French or Dutch is as asset;

  • You are comfortable in using Excel;

  • You have experience in working in a multicultural and multi-generational organisation;

  • Experience or willingness to learn how to read accounts (but note that this is not an accountant position);

  • Knowledge of EU funding rules is a plus;

  • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.

WHAT CEPS CAN OFFER:

We initially offer full-time employment for 12 months. The contract is renewable. The salary will be in accordance with your previous experience as well as the CEPS salary scale. We also offer a benefits package (group & hospitalisation insurance, meal tickets, public transport reimbursement, 20 days legal holiday entitlement per year plus an additional two weeks during the Christmas-New Year period when CEPS is closed, as well as the possibility to telework in Belgium + 20 days per calendar year of teleworking from abroad).

We would like the preferred candidate to start as soon as possible and by April 2024 at the latest. The job will be based in Brussels.
