Within our Cell Therapy team in Mont-saint-Guibert (Belgium) there is one position immediately available for a Production Technician.

You will join an international and dedicated group of scientists, project leaders and laboratory technicians. We have expertise in bioprocess development, stem cell biology, cell-based assays, and GMP manufacturing. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Works daily in a cleanroom manufacturing environment (Grade A/B/C/D);

  • Controls and maintains the environment (equipment & facility cleaning and environmental monitoring) of the GMP production areas;

  • Manufactures clinical grade ATMPs by aseptic manual process, including isolation, selection, activation, transduction, culture, fill and finish and cryopreservation of primary cells according to SOPs and aseptic techniques;

  • Prepares sterile culture media and solutions according to SOPs and aseptic techniques;

  • Performs in process control testing on batch samples, such as cell counting and viability;

  • Trained to use critical process equipment handling (incl. cell selection and cryopreservation);

  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns and calling for repairs;

  • Contributes to activities related to the introduction of new products, processes optimization, procedures and equipment in GMP areas;

  • Participates in the follow-up of QMS-related tasks, including CCR, deviations/events and CAPA;

  • Provides support to writing and revising SOPs and associated documents (incl. batch records, work files, checklists, procedures) related to routine Production documentation;

  • Supports the Senior Technician to manage raw materials, consumables and wastes, incl. preparation of internal orders, entry and exit from the zones, cleaning and storage, according to SOPs;

  • Completes diligently all GMP documentation (forms, reports, logs and records of equipment and batches);

  • Communicates clearly with supervisors and colleagues to highlight on production status or any items related to safety, quality and efficiency;

  • Uses various manufacturing execution system software (e.g. for EM, alarms);

  • Works in a constructive and flexible way in a team;

  • Is able to support QC and R&D technicians on routine activities.


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree in Biotechnology/Applied Biology or equivalent relevant experience;

  • Min 3 to 5 years, respectively, hands-on expertise in in cell culture and aseptic techniques;

  • Knowledge of GMP.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Focus on quality, compliance and detail;

  • Languages: Good level of French and English;

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications;

  • Can do attitude;

  • Good interaction & communication skills;

  • Work precisely per procedures, rules and regulations and planning;

  • Ability to work in (transversal) teams - Team spirit;

  • Flexible mind-set.
