The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, Apex-Brasil, works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad, to support the internationalization of Brazilian companies and to attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy.

ApexBrasil produces business intelligence, organises trade missions and business rounds, supports the participation of Brazilian companies in major international trade fairs, arranges technical visits of foreign buyers and opinion makers to enhance their understanding of Brazilian productive structures, among other initiatives to strengthen the country’s branding abroad.

Under then helm of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, ApexBrasil also plays a leading role in attracting foreign direct investment to Brazil, by identifying business opportunities, promoting strategic outreach events and lending support to foreign investors willing to allocate resources in Brazil.

We are currently seeking a Policy Officer to join our Brussels team.

YOUR ROLE:

• Monitor regulatory developments across relevant sectors and assess their impact on Brazilian goods and services’ access to the EU market;


• Plan and execute strategies to efficiently position Brazilian business vis-à-vis the EU institutions and other stakeholders;


• Produce critical analyses and recommendations for Brazilian businesses on their engagement in Brussels;


• Foster a strong professional network in Brussels, maintaining contact with representatives from the institutions, regulatory authorities, trade associations, NGOs, the media and other relevant stakeholders;


• Draft communication materials targeted at varied audiences in Brussels;


• Produce a monthly newsletter in Portuguese on regulatory and political developments in the EU with an impact on trade.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in International Relations, European Studies, Economics, Law, Communications or Public Affairs. Master is an asset;


• At least 3 (three) years of relevant experience working with the EU institutions with a focus on trade and/or agri-food policy;


• Proven experience in drafting communication materials;


• Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and oral). French is an asset.
