The Centre for Democracy & Technology Europe (CDT Europe) is seeking an Operations and Finance Manager to support the Secretary General in the overall management of the organisation. They will assist in accounting-related and administrative tasks, as well as provide logistical support to the team. This is a part-time position at 60%, equating to three days per week.

As a growing team, CDT Europe is in need of dedicated operational support to ensure the day-to-day financial and administrative functioning of the organisation. Working directly with the Secretary General, the Operations and Finance Manager will coordinate with the organisation’s external accounting and HR support, and Finance and Administrative team to ensure the proper functioning of the organisation in line with Belgian legal requirements and organisational values.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a growing team, CDT Europe is in need of dedicated operational support to ensure the day-to-day financial and administrative functioning of the organisation. Working directly with the Secretary General, the Operations and Finance Manager will coordinate with the organisation’s external accounting and HR support, and Finance and Administrative team to ensure the proper functioning of the organisation in line with Belgian legal requirements and organisational values.
TASKS:
- Work with the Secretary General and external accountants on relevant accounting tasks including;
- Managing receipt and filing of invoices;
- Filing and analytically coding monthly invoices;
- Processing payments;
- Supporting the preparation of documents for the annual audit;
- Support the Secretary General in developing and updating relevant internal work regulations and policies, for example, the staff handbook and holiday policies;
- Support Programme Directors and Development Team in the management and oversight of individual programme budgets;
- Act as point of contact with external HR support organisation (e.g. help keep track of staff holidays and contractual changes etc.);
- Work with the Finance and Admin team for CDT Global, CDT Europe’s partner organisation, to ensure alignment between internal financial systems and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 or more years of relevant professional experience in providing operational and administrative support of the nature described above;
- Relevant experience in supporting financial management (filing, project budget management etc);
- Proactive and problem-solving mindset, with strong organisational and time management skills and attention to detail;
- Knowledge of Belgian administrative processes applicable to Belgian AISBL and Experience working with NGOs is an advantage is an asset;
- Excellent command of written and spoken French and English required;
- Ability to cooperate with colleagues, both in Brussels and Washington, D.C.
REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:
- 1 year fixed term Belgian employment contract with the possibility of renewal;
- Salary scale: €45 to €55,000 gross per annum, pro rated to 60% (salary dependent on experience);
- Must have a right to work in Belgium;
- Location: Brussels, Belgium;
