Dornan is seeking applications for the role of MEP Manager. This is a key role on a new Hyperscale Data Centre project in Belgium.
Reporting to the Project Director, the MEP Manager will be the main site liaison for all aspects of MEP packages in the project scope, including Electrical, Mechanical, Sprinkler, Generator and will manage a team of package managers on site

Reporting to the Project Director, the MEP Manager will be the main site liaison for all aspects of MEP packages in the project scope, including Electrical, Mechanical, Sprinkler, Generator and will manage a team of package managers on site
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of the Electrical & Mechanical Systems packages;
- Management of all day-to-day site operations;
- Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Project Manager and the Dornan Safety Advisor. This will include the setup, management of and closing out of the safety file as part of the Management team;
- Drive a focused Quality. Health, Safety and Environmental culture within your team;
- Oversee the application of Site QA in conjunction with Dornan QA Manager including set up, management and close out of file;
- Oversee the application of Project Schedule in conjunction with Dornan Project Manager, consulting Engineer and Client requirements and ensure its adherence;
- Management and consultation with the commercial management for all costs associated with your packages including:
- Dornan Electrical Team;
- Dornan Mechanical Team;
- Sub-contractors;
- Material deliveries and goods receipting;
- Plant and Equipment;
- Variations;
- Valuations.
- Ensure Dornan Policies and procedures are followed closely;
- Coordination of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensure that there is a weekly minuted meeting with sub-contractor;
- Coordination of the Dornan snagging system ensuring that the supervisors return weekly punch lists where applicable. Ensure all snags are distributed to all Sub-contractors;
- Issue direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator for tracking centrally;
- Chair Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings and ensure comprehensive notes and actions are kept for record;
- Close out of all project items including Final Account, O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan – all with the support of the site project manager and your project team;
- Issue weekly cost reports. This will include all orders placed, materials expected, and labour levels;
- Issue internal weekly progress report rolled up from project supervisors report. This will highlight progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns. It should also highlight any risk elements within the control of Dornan, e.g.: late deliveries;
- Ensure all Sub-contractor documentation including safety documentation is maintained up to date and filed for future reference;
- Issue external weekly progress report, to the project manager, highlighting areas not available, delays, shortage of design, third party hold ups and percentage complete;
- Schedule material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule. Track all deliveries;
- Maintain a weekly project photographic diary;
- Liaise with & maintain strong relationships with the client team;
- Review design in conjunction with the Dornan & client teams;
- Oversee coordination of works between the various M&E scope items & ensure alignment with overall site works;
- Ensure change management is handled correctly (Cost & Programme).
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Trade or Degree Qualified in an Electrical or Building Services discipline;
- 10+ years’ experience in construction, ideally with experience delivering data centre projects as part of the GC team;
- At least three years in a senior position with the ability to manage large and diverse teams;
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to work to tight deadlines.
