ABOUT US:

The European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE) is a dynamic organisation established in 2009 to represent the interests of employers in the strategic and highly diverse European education and training sector. It thereby covers all levels of education from pre-school to higher education and research. As an officially recognised European social partner in education, EFEE’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching and school management through European cooperation and dialogue with trade unions, European institutions, and relevant stakeholders to shape education and labour market policies across Europe.

Our membership includes national, regional, and local education authorities and organisations from across Europe. Together, we work to strengthen education systems through policy and advocacy, capacity-building and transnational cooperation.

To expand our network and enhance our impact, we are looking for a motivated and proactive Membership & Project Officer to lead EFEE’s membership strategy and manage at least one EU-funded project.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership Strategy Development & Implementation 

  • Lead the re-design and implementation of EFEE’s membership strategy;

  • Map and identify prospective members at national, regional, and local levels;

  • Plan and execute targeted outreach campaigns and networking efforts;

  • Support and engage existing members through regular communication and tailored services;

  • Develop and maintain membership-related tools, databases, and promotional materials;

  • Monitor and analyse membership trends and provide regular reports to the Secretary General.


Project Management 

  • Manage one or more EU-funded projects from inception to completion;

  • Coordinate with project partners, stakeholders, and funding agencies;

  • Ensure timely implementation of activities, compliance with project requirements, and budget monitoring;

  • Lead the preparation of project deliverables, reports, and dissemination materials;

  • Organise and facilitate events, meetings, and study visits linked to project activities;

  • Align project outcomes with EFEE’s overall strategic and policy goals.


CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • University degree in International Relations, European Studies, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field;

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in a European membershipbased or policy-oriented organisation;

  • Proven track record in membership development and stakeholder engagement;

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating/managing EU-funded projects, particularly Erasmus+ or similar;

  • Knowledge of EU institutions, funding programmes, and education/labour market policy is essential;

  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral); additional EU languages are an asset;

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities independently;

  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and intercultural communication skills;

  • Proficiency with office and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, online platforms);

  • Commitment to EFEE’s values and to improving education through employer engagement;

WHAT WE OFFER:

EFEE offers you the opportunity to work full-time (38 hours/week) in a dynamic organisation that operates at the forefront of social and educational policy developments in Europe. This post is located in Brussels, Belgium, with an office at the centre of the European Quarter. We have a flat and open organisational structure where working from home is possible. Nevertheless, staff meetings and departmental meetings take place in the office, therefore, living in Belgium is a requirement. Extensive travel within Europe may be required.

Salary level: 2500 EUR gross per month plus benefits package including 13th month, vacation pay, representation fund, meal vouchers, health insurance, public transport ticket.

Starting date: Preferably 1st September 2025 to be agreed with the selected candidate.
