ABOUT THE ORGANISATION:

The Association of Mutual Insurers and Insurance Cooperatives in Europe (AMICE) is the voice of the mutual and cooperative insurance sector in Europe. The sector represents approximately one-third of all insurance business in Europe.

AMICE’s primary remit is to advocate for appropriate and fair treatment of all mutual and cooperative insurers in Europe. It has 78 full members across 21 countries and speaks for an additional 700 insurers through its national associations members. In addition, AMICE has two associate members and two supporting members.

AMICE provides a platform for mutual and cooperative insurers of all sizes to combine resources and expertise, exchange experiences across national borders and discuss key issues and concerns relating to EU legislative and regulatory changes. It encourages its members to collaborate and share views on topics and developments which may impact them.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In order to best represent and provide services to its members, AMICE is recruiting a dedicated membership and support officer. The successful candidate will ensure that members are engaged and that their needs and expectations from AMICE are understood, and reflected in AMICE’s activities. The role will provide Secretariat services to AMICE’s Support Commission, covering a diverse range of areas including sustainability, health, reinsurance and social economy. This will include developing policy positions in conjunction with other advocacy groups within the AMICE membership.

The role offers interesting opportunities to individuals who have true team spirit and feel comfortable with daily changing challenges and a high degree of personal responsibility.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage AMICE membership database/CRM;

  • Implement and development AMICE’s membership programme;

  • Organise analytics for member insights;

  • Coordinate regular membership contacts;

  • Develop membership offerings to respond to member requirements;

  • Manage membership applications;

  • Identify and engage new members;

  • Develop contact network through member organisations;

  • Provide assistance to members directly upon request or ensure they receive the relevant response;

  • Organise membership support activities through relevant working groups / forums / taskforces: programme, agenda, meeting notes, minutes, follow-up actions.


ABOUT THE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Proven, initial work experience of at least 2-3 years of working on activities in an EU environment ideally with focus on membership management and/or member relations, or alternatively with experience in working closely with members (e.g. as part of a working group);

  • Experience of working in a customer-relations and/or business development role would be considered an asset, as would a knowledge of database or CRM management software;

  • A relevant university degree in EU studies, political science, international relations with other degrees to be considered as well;

  • Familiarity with and interest in the EU policy environment;

  • An excellent knowledge of English on a native or near native level, with fluency in other languages (in particular French) to be considered a strong asset;

  • Creative and organised initiative-taker; team-player.
