Logistics Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic professional to join Ontex as the Director of Logistics. Based in Aalst, Belgium, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the logistics operations in a network of internally operated warehouses and 3PLs. This role will include managing Transportation, Warehousing, Distribution, and Customer Service, with a total logistics spend of approximately 150 million euros, ensuring the efficient and strategic execution of Ontex's logistics activities.


Transportation Management

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the effective transportation of products from internal and external DCs to customers;

  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and standards. Lead cost saving initiatives and setup KPIs for carrier performance. Work on CO2 reduction projects.

Distribution Management

  • Oversee the distribution network to meet customer demands while minimizing lead times and costs;

  • Implement strategies for warehouse optimization; internal warehouse efficiency and outsourcing to 3PLs.

Customer Service

  • Drive efficiency projects by automating customer service processes;

  • Partner with sales teams to work on customer collaboration initiatives with the top retailers such as Collaborative planning , VMI, usage EPOS data.

Team Leadership

  • Provide strong leadership to a team of logistics and warehouse people, fostering a culture of passion, reliability, integrity, drive for results, and collaboration;

  • Drive employee engagement, development, and performance excellence.

Financial Management

  • Manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets;

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, sales, and finance, to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives;

  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, suppliers, and service providers.


  • Master degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field;

  • Min 10y experience in a senior logistics leadership role with a focus on transportation and distribution management, across multiple plants and regions, preferably within the consumer goods industry;

  • Knowledge of logistics best practices, trends, and innovations. Proficiency in logistics software, such as warehouse management systems (WMS), and transportation management systems (TMS). Vendor managed inventory, collaborative planning;

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a large team;

  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities;

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
