CONTEXT:
The Learning and Development (L&D) unit of MSF Belgium (OCB – Operational center Brussels) aims to develop our workforce acquire the necessary competencies by providing learning opportunities, essential to meet MSF’s operational needs and objectives.
We are looking for an enthusiastic L&D Analytics Intern to support in the establishment of a sustainable System gathering reliable and coherent data from our projects and HQ to analyze our needs, target groups and learning offer, guiding us in our decision-making.
Within this context, your role will be focused on a project that aims to combine relevant data for L&D from two different systems, contributing to each system’s completion in terms of available information and potential for analysis.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the scope of the Innovation and Processes Team of the L&D Unit the main objective of this internship is to support the development of a solution to gather and combine relevant data from MSFs’ LMS system and from the OCB HR system. To achieve this goal, as intern, you will work on:
The position is a great opportunity for you to learn about data management of L&D within OCB, with all the challenges and opportunities that entails. It will offer you a comprehensive understanding of the elaborate data processes, systems, and analytics at MSF.
This position might also request additional tasks and some flexibility depending on the agenda and the workload of the team.

- Developing an optimal solution to cover this data gathering process together with the two systems’ main Stakeholders and L&D Analyst;
- Performing data quality checks, matching data from the two sources;
- Feed data back to each of these systems;
- Testing this solution, reaching conclusions on best way to move forward.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, Management, Statistics, Data Science or a related field. Background in Data Management;
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Office 365, with excellent knowledge of Excel;
- Understanding of relational database management systems, with fundamental knowledge of SQL;
- Familiarity with data visualizations tools like Power BI or Tableau in an asset;
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R is an asset.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt quickly and respond to changing work situations and priorities;
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
LANGUAGES:
- Fluency in written and spoken English;
- French is an asset.
CONDITIONS:
- Expected starting date: As soon as possible;
- Location: Brussels (Belgium). Due to legal administrative constraints, candidates must already be resident in Belgium or have a residence right as a student in Belgium or in the European Union allowing to move and study in the EU and with the willingness to relocate in Belgium at their own costs;
- Position type: Internship (unpaid) - Registered student with mandatory internship under school/university convention;
- Internship duration: 4 to 6 months;
- Time allocation: possibility to work part-time;
- 100% reimbursement for public transportation costs in Belgium, and 7 EUR/day worked in the office to cover lunch costs;
