ABOUT THE EUROPEAN CLIMATE FOUNDATION:
The European Climate Foundation (ECF) is a major philanthropic initiative working to tackle the climate crisis by fostering the development of a net-zero emission society at the national, European and global level.
We support over 1000partner organizations to carry out activities that drive urgent and ambitious policy in support of the objectives of the Paris Agreement, contribute to the public debate on climate action and help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero economy and sustainable society in Europe and around the world.
The ECF brings together diverse perspectives and backgrounds to find the best innovative solutions to tackle climate change. We are recruiting a trainee to support the ECF Industry & Innovation program.The ECF program works with a wide range of partners in civil society, think tanks, research, politics and industry to support positive action on climate in European heavy industry, both at EU and Member States level. Our goal is to contribute to a thrivingnet-zero European industry that can help achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement. The successful applicant would support the industry team in implementing its strategy through daily operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The post holder will be expected to:
- Attend various events and share key insights or summaries with team members;
- Conduct research on various topics depending on the needs and interests of the team;
- Support the team in organizing meetings or events;
- Support the team in coordinating various internal processes;
- Monitoring existing and new communications channels -readout drafting relevant for the program;
- Supporting ad hoc strategic communications logistic and operation tasks -events and facilitation etc;
- Supporting media monitoring and social media listening.
The intern will report to the Program Manager of the Industry & Innovation program and other dedicated team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and competencies
- Strong interest in climate and the environment;
- Ideally expertise on energy intensive industries and the socio-economic environment they operate in;
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields;
- Strong interest and good understanding of EU and/or one member state’s political system;
- Previous professional experience would be seen as an advantage;
- Good research and analytical skills and ability to present information in a clear and concise manner;
- Strong administrative and computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
- Strong written and in-person communication skills;
- Excellent command of the English languages (both spoken and written). Additional European languages are a plus.
