For a company active in the engineering sector, Hays is looking for a General Accountant in Overijse.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

As General Accountant, you are responsible for the accounting from A to Z, the daily accounting tasks and the tax submissions: daily accounting, closing, account reconciliation, AP, GL. You are responsible for the VAT requirements for 3 entities and for the preparation of the year-end closing. You prepare the monthly and quarterly reports, assist with the annual external audit. Think proactively and continuously about process improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor or Master’s degree in accounting and at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You speak English and French or Dutch fluently. You have strong BE GAAP knowledge and have strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. You are able to work autonomously as well as within a team. You have experience with an ERP system and have an advanced level of Excel.
