DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a flow cytometry expert to join an exciting research program in the Pasciuto lab at VIB-UAntwerp Center for Molecular Neurology.
Our lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuroimmune interactions in the context of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled biologist with strong expertise in flow cytometry, particularly in the design and analysis of complex spectral flow cytometry panels. You will play a key role in both advancing in-house projects and supporting other researchers.

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled biologist with strong expertise in flow cytometry, particularly in the design and analysis of complex spectral flow cytometry panels. You will play a key role in both advancing in-house projects and supporting other researchers.
Your main tasks will be:
- Design, test, and analyse spectral flow cytometry panels;
- Perform routine tasks: run QC, manage stocks, update protocols;
- Support other lab members with experimental planning, acquisition, analysis, and presentation of flow data;
- Antibody titration, troubleshooting, and panel optimization;
- Train new lab members and stay up to date with technological advancements;
- Maintain organized records and report weekly to the lab head.
YOUR PROFILE:
Essential
- Professional bachelor’s degree in life sciences or industrial engineering, with relevant lab experience;
- Solid hands-on experience with flow cytometry (FACS), including panel design and analysis (e.g., FlowJo);
- Passion for supporting scientific projects through technical expertise;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Comfortable working with deadlines and maintaining high standards;
- Flexible and eager to learn new skills;
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English;
- Strong team player, but also able to work independently;
- Motivated, proactive, and collaborative;
- Comfortable working in an international environment.
Desirable
- PhD in biomedical sciences, biotechnology, or a related field;
- Experience with spectral flow cytometry;
- Experience working with mouse models (FELASA B or C);
- Programming skills in R and/or Python;
- Background in Immunology.
