Terumo is a manufacturer of medical devices. In Leuven, Terumo produces around 800 million injection needles, injection solutions, catheters and necessary accessories per year. On the one hand we develop and produce products for hospitals, on the other hand we produce specifically developed products according to the needs, demands and medicines of our pharma customers. To make this far-reaching personalization possible, investments were made in flexible machinery with a high degree of automation. To drive Sustainable facilities and operations, we are currently looking to reinforce the facility team with a Facility Engineer Utilities.

Responsible for the implementation of sustainability related (ex. energy-saving) measures, monitoring of systems and putting compliance points for the facilities department to meet the sustainability targets.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the implementation of sustainability related (ex. energy-saving) measures, monitoring of systems and putting compliance points for the facilities department to meet the sustainability targets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will think along with projects around e.g. steam, HVAC, energy, explosion safety, water consumption. You take are of a decent preparation and will handle the projects properly yourself. Where necessary, you will work together with engineering firms and with contractors in the implementation;
- You plan and implement plants and production lines in order to maximize the use of available space and improve production efficiency;
- You estimate costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials and you monitor the construction process;
- You ensure that established efficiency and safety targets are met;
- You control investment budgets, timing, strategy towards expected output;
- You conduct research into energy efficient processes within facilities. You collaborate on the environmental permit and energy policy agreement in line with local/European legislation;
- You are responsible for keeping legal sustainability obligations up to date. You support the EHS department by providing necessary information about legally required aspects.
PROFILE DESCRIPTION:
- Higher level (industrial engineer, graduate or equal by relevant working experience);
- Knowledge of:
- designing tools (Autocad) en MS Project;
- GMP and safety CE-regulations for machines;
- AREI/CODEX;
- Process techniques for utilities;
- Method and machinery of utilities.
- This person has taken note of energy reduction, within facility processes;
- Good knowledge of the Dutch language.
