DESCRIPTION:
JOB PURPOSE:
Climate Bonds is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Events Executive to support our events team in the organising and execution of our global annual events. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, detailed orientated, and have a passion for event planning.
Events are an important marketing and communications distribution channel for Climate Bonds, providing the organisation with the perfect platform for direct engagement to senior key decision makers in the Sustainable Finance sphere. Over the last decade, Climate Bonds CONNECT series, has grown exponentially and the events have become some of the most influential in the field, having been held in London, New York, Mumbai, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Sau Paulo, to name a few.
Working with the Event Manager and the wider marketing and communications team, the Event Executive will engage with external stakeholders, from high-level speakers to sponsors, as well as other internal business wide team members.
The primary responsibilities of this role will be the administrative and production support for the the annual CONNECT series., as well as the creation of smaller events. The range of events will vary between in-person and online.
This position is open to entry-level candidates, with at least one year’s work experience, ideally gained within the corporate events sector. It requires excellent communication skills, solid knowledge of the use of digital tools around events, and a keen interest in learning and developing within the role.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
- Direct Reporting to the Event Manager to ensure smooth operations of Events activities;
- Engagement with event sponsors throughout Sponsorship deal;
- Engagement with multiple Climate Bonds teams;
- Collaboration across the organisation with different team members as well as senior management;
- Engagement with Climate Bonds external stakeholders such as sponsors, speakers, delegates, etc. as well as third party suppliers and vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of the events, including venue research and selection, vendor management, menu planning and entertainment bookings (where required);
- Coordinate event logistics, including speaker and sponsor engagement, audio visual equipment, venue logistics;
- Coordination of the digital event platform (where used) and update of relevant content on website on regular basis;
- Collaborate with marketing and comms team in developing event marketing materials and outreach strategies including production of newsletters, mailing lists and mailings;
- Serve as point of contact for event attendees, vendors and sponsors, providing exceptional customer service;
- Manage event registration, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and communication with attendees;
- Support event management of our events, on-site and online, including set-up, registration and tear-down;
- Assist with conducting post event evaluations and analysis, gathering feedback from attendees, vendors and sponsors;
- Assist in the creation of event proposals and sponsorship packages (where needed).
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- Bachelors in Events, Marketing or other Communications related field;
- Minimum of one year in events planning or related field from within a corporate environment;
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail, with ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with sponsors, vendors and colleagues;
- Proficiency in Microsoft office;
- Excellent English fluency, other languages are beneficial;
- Ability to travel on occasion;
- Flexibility to work out of office hours (when working on an event).
Desirable
- Interest in Climate action and an understanding of the role of Climate Finance;
- Ability to work within a global and multicultural team at different levels, as well as with external stakeholders;
- Flexible and copes well under pressure;
- Digital and website technical interest;
- Understanding of event technologies and platforms;
- Experience planning hybrid events.
