YOUR ROLE:
- Together with one other employee, you represent EuroNatur in Brussels and you will focus on biodiversity finance (the next Multiannual Financial Framework and innovative finance schemes for biodiversity);
- In this role you will advocate the interests of the foundation and its projects to the European institutions. You will work on your own responsibility, but also in close cooperation with the foundation's project managers and project partners;
- You will report to the Executive Director of EuroNatur, who leads the policy programme.
YOUR TASKS:
- Developing projects and managing their implementation in line with deadlines and requirements;
- Contributing to the development of biodiversity finance strategies;
- Collaborating with NGOs on relevant policy issues, such as the EU budget and innovative biodiversity finance mechanisms;
- Participating in and organizing meetings, calls, webinars, events, and contributing to civil society coalitions working on related topics;
- Monitoring EU policy initiatives and developments to enhance EuroNatur’s advocacy efforts;
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with EU institutions and relevant stakeholders;
- Drafting and reviewing policy documents, consultation responses, reports, and recommendations;
- Exploring communication opportunities on EU budget and innovative biodiversity finance and supporting the communication activities of our organisation;
- Supporting the fundraising process and preparing technical and financial project reports.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A university degree and at least three years of relevant experience in EU advocacy, ideally in the conservation sector with experience in conservation policy or public/private finance;
- Strong understanding of EU legislative processes and policymaking within the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the EU;
- Project management experience, preferably in multi-stakeholder settings;
- Excellent networking and communication skills; comfortable engaging with decision-makers and speaking in public;
- Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of German (preferred but not required) and/ or French are beneficial;
- Highly organized, proactive, and responsible with a structured approach to work;
- A strong commitment to EuroNatur’s mission and values.
