The European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC), a non-profit organisation gathering the major footwear national associations of the EU, is seeking to recruit an EU Policy Officer for its headquarters in Brussels to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will assist the Secretary General in achieving CEC’s objectives (see www.cec-footwearindustry.eu).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

In general, assistance in the implementation of the decisions and strategic directions established by the General Assembly as well as in the promotion and dissemination of the aims of the CEC.

More specifically

  • Monitoring and analysis of EU legislative proposals and policy developments of interest for the footwear industry;

  • Drafting of related policy briefings, speaking notes and presentation material;

  • Represent the CEC in external meetings and events in Brussels;

  • Establish good relations with representatives of EU institutions, and other stakeholders;

  • Collation of industry wide statistics and data, production of reports and presentations;

  • Assistance in the implementation of EU projects: desk research, surveys, reports, etc;

  • Support in updating and maintaining a dynamic website, social media and in the implementation of other communication activities;

  • Participation in meetings, conferences and other events of interest;

  • General office organisation and administrative support.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of proven professional experience on EU public affairs, preferably acquired in an EU industrial association or an EU institution;

  • Professional experience on EU Industrial, Trade, and Green Deal strategies will be desirable;

  • University degree in political sciences, international relations or Master on EU affairs;

  • Full professional proficiency in English, written and spoken, is a must; other European languages, particularly French, will be considered an asset;

  • Strong analytical and communication skills;

  • Advanced computer skills, including web publishing, and database management;

  • Ability to work independently under minor supervision, and on own initiative;

  • Good organisational skills, adaptable and open-minded.
