We are looking for an EU Communications and Events Specialist to join our Brussels team. In this role, you will manage our social media presence, lead media outreach, and coordinate the organisation of events.

Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be held on a rolling basis. Interviews will be carried out online, through Microsoft Teams.

  • Role title: EU Communications and Events Specialist;

  • Type of contract: Depending on candidate’s profile, salary range €36-40K;

  • Reporting to: CEO, Bernd Weber;

  • Location: EPICO #SustainableHub, Rue du Commerce 72, 1040 Brussels.


TASKS:

  • You will manage, in close collaboration with the Germany Media & Communications Specialist, the communications and social media strategy, along with EU-level media outreach;

  • You will create engaging content for different target groups including social media posts, press releases, and more.  You will also coordinate the design of publications and proofread communication materials;

  • You will be responsible of the monthly newsletter, from drafting to final delivery;

  • You will lead the logistics and organisation of events on EU-related topics, working closely with the Brussels team, providing communicative support throughout the process, from drafting event materials to post-event communication;

  • Additionally, you will conduct stakeholder mapping, update internal databases, maintain the website, and manage press relationships.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree, ideally in communication or media studies;

  • You have excellent analytical skills and work independently, in a self-organised, and solution-oriented manner;

  • You are proactive, creative, and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines;

  • You possess strong teamwork and interpersonal skills;

  • You are open-minded, empathetic, and aligned with EPICO's mission and values;

  • You have impeccable English language skills (C2) and a good command of German (B1);

  • You are social media-savvy, creative, and innovative.


DESIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • You have 2-3 years of relevant professional experience and can demonstrate a proven track record;

  • You have a keen interest in EU energy and climate policy;

  • You are familiar with tools like Canva, CMS platforms, and LinkedIn, with experience in creating visuals or a strong willingness to learn these skills;

  • You have experience with email automation and web design tools;

  • You have experience working with media and/or journalists.
