ABOUT ESIA:

The European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA) is the organisation representing the semiconductor industry in Europe toward the European institutions. Semiconductor products are the key enabler for improved energy consumption and performance across a wide range of everyday technology applications in society. They contribute to tackling global challenges through innovative solutions in industry, mobility, healthcare, as well as consumer electronics for positive societal change.

ESIA is seeking a dynamic and motivated Environment, Safety & Health and Sustainability Officer to join its Brussels-based team. This is an exciting opportunity for a public affairs professional to represent and advocate for the European semiconductor industry on critical environmental and sustainability issues.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Policy and advocacy

  • Monitor EU and international legislative developments related to environmental policy;

  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies to represent the semiconductor industry’s interests effectively.


Committee management 

  • Manage and coordinate the ESIA ESH Committee and other sustainability related working groups;

  • Close cooperation with industry experts: facilitate effective dialogue and coordination among member companies to align positions, gather technical insights, and build consensus on key regulatory and sustainability issues.


International collaboration 

  • Represent ESIA in the World Semiconductor Council (WSC);

  • Engage with global stakeholders to address shared environmental challenges and promote sustainable manufacturing practices.


Other

  • Contribute to shaping the association’s strategic direction: Support the development of innovative initiatives, foster partnerships and help position the semiconductor industry as a leader in sustainability and environmental responsibility.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • University degree in law, public policy, sustainability, engineering or related fields;

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in EU affairs, ideally within an industry association;

  • Strong knowledge of EU legislative processes and environmental policy frameworks (Chemicals Strategy, Green Deal, Water Resilience, etc.);

  • Excellent project management and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively;

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English. Additional languages (e.g., French, German) are an asset;

  • A collaborative and hands-on mindset and experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams;

  • Willingness to travel internationally.
