The Pooled Fund on International Energy (PIE) is an international grant making and strategy platform with a mission to secure a safe climate, clean air and prosperity through encouraging a just transition in the power and steel sectors.

YOUR ROLE:
PIE is seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to join our transnational team working on the power sector transition. The successful candidate will be a keen, dynamic and innovative collaborator who can support our strategy, grantmaking, and convening activities. This Senior Associate will work with the directors of the transnational program and program team members to ensure the grant making processes and operational management are effective and strategies are implemented. This role will also need to work closely with our networks and partners around the world, provide efficient support to their needs and organize convenings around major topics or objectives whenever necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for the job holder to engage with a dynamic transnational program at an important stage from various fronts to advance the work.
KEY TASKS:
The Energy Transition Program Officer will work under the Transnational Program of PIE and will be directly supervised by a program Director. They will work closely with other PIE teams, especially the Operations and Grant Management team, Steel team, Asia in the World team, Africa team and LAC team.

KEY TASKS:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the PIE Transnational strategies with other team members;
- Manage and implement the grant making process by working closely with our grantees, operation team and team members;
- Support the Program Directors in grant management, including developing and maintaining a grantees database, handling coordination and communication with partners from different levels;
- Provide timely and effective support to our partners and grantees, including the needs to support organizing and convening activities.
The Energy Transition Program Officer will work under the Transnational Program of PIE and will be directly supervised by a program Director. They will work closely with other PIE teams, especially the Operations and Grant Management team, Steel team, Asia in the World team, Africa team and LAC team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategy Development & Project Management: Support the development and delivery of strategy around opportunities to align with Transnational program goals, priorities and budgets; co-develop and implement strategies with our network of grantees and partners; monitor and evaluate progress and impact of initiatives and grants; support the Director and team members in generating material necessary for fund-raising; and act as a liaison to report regular progress to donors;
- Grant-making: Identify relevant grantees independently and/or in coordination with other programs in PIE, coordinate or provide input into the grant-making strategy. Develop and maintain a Transnational grantees database lead the liaison with grantees, and help ensure the entire grant-making cycle comply with the internal procedures and standards. Act as the focal point between the Transnational Team and the operation team of PIE;
- Coordination, communication and convening: Liaise and explore joint opportunities with existing and potential grantees, partners and networks (including peer regrantors), and other relevant or connected programmes inside the organisation; ensure proper and timely dissemination of information, and consistency and complementarity of different projects. Support the design and organizing of convening activities with partners when necessary;
- Research activities and prospecting: Compile, research and analyse topic areas which are essential to the program strategies and contents, scope the landscape and identify opportunities on emerging topics such as trade, supply chain, technology, etc. This also requires the person to reach out and interact with other teams in the wider organization and ecosystem to create stronger synergies among projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and competencies
- A university degree or relevant background or comparable work experience;
- 5-8 years or more of relevant professional experience in academia, media, research, international organizations, think tanks or NGOs;
- Experience in/related to climate, finance, investment, energy, or renewable energy sectors is desirable. Relevant experience might include a track record of bringing about change through, for example, public campaigning, advocacy, network mobilization or inside an agency, business, or government setting;
- Solid experience with a track record on project management, coordination and implementation across multiple stakeholders is essential;
- Excellence in process management and networking. Including a demonstrable ability to develop and maintain trusting professional relationships across different sectors, diverse groups of partners, including partners from different cultural contexts;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- A demonstrated ability to self-manage and self-organise, including establishing your own workspace and schedule.High efficiency in both individual and team contexts is essential;
- A commitment to the mission and values of PIE and ECF.

LOCATION:
- Can be remote and/or ECF office based;
- Please note that the line manager for this role resides in the UK and other Directors the associate will work with reside in the EU and Australia. The role will require liaising with partners from across the globe with different timezones and includes travelling as required.
