ABOUT ENTSO-E:

ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a highly professional and skilled Energy Data Advisor, passionate about the European electricity grid and the energy transition. Are you ready to interact with the highest-level European Experts in Standardisation and Data Interoperability? If yes, ENTSO-E is the right place for you.

As Energy Data Advisor, you will play an important role in facilitating data interoperability for critical European electricity grid processes. Your contributions will support demand-side flexibility and the creation of a European energy data space, aligning with the European Commission's Electricity Action Plan. Additionally, you will work with expert groups from Transmission System Operators (TSOs) on Standardisation and Data Interoperability, ensuring consensus on developed standards within ENTSO-E. You will also foster effective collaboration between ENTSO-E and the EU DSO entity on standards and contribute to the Smart Energy Expert Group’s efforts related to Data for Energy.

The Energy Data Advisor will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels in the ICT section, reporting directly to the Architectures and Standardisation Manager. The ICT section is comprised of 40 internal and external staff.  This position involves continuous interaction and alignment between ENTSO-E's internal teams, member organisations, and external stakeholders.

Occasional short travels (e.g. 1-2 days per month) may be required.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key tasks and responsibilities of the successful candidate are listed below. Responsibilities may be subject to change depending on the evolution of priorities and projects.

  • With a proactive approach, lead and support groups of TSO experts, ensure the experts reach common position on draft standards;

  • Develop Demand Response Data interoperability use case and reference model aligned with ENTSO-E position;

  • Contribute to the Smart Energy Expert Group and Data for Energy subgroup with European stakeholders;

  • Ensure that interlinked projects and activities across the ENTSO-E are run in a coordinated, repeatable, harmonized way. Especially, channel knowledge generated from R&D projects to ENTSO-E groups. Bridge ICT groups with business groups in the association;

  • Support European projects by explaining the data exchange standards and how to utilise them;

  • Contribute to the preparation of the Steering Group ICT Strategy and ICT Committee meetings, in cooperation with the other staff of the ICT section, (e.g., preparing agendas, cover notes, session files, presentations, decisions and draft minutes);

  • Support to the day-to-day business of the ICT Section in relation to the functioning of the Steering Group ICT Strategy and its working groups, project teams in the area of data interoperability.


YOUR PROFILE:

We are looking for a motivated candidate with the following skills and abilities:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power System Engineering, Information Technology or related field;

  • At least 5-8 years relevant work experience, preferably in the TSO business, in distributed flexibility or in market data;

  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration within the Secretariat, supporting committee members, building consensus, and clearly conveying the TSOs' work and positions to the Commission, regulators, stakeholders, politicians, and the public;

  • Good affinity with project management approaches and managing priorities. Strong organisation and coordination skills working across multiple groups and disciplines;

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in English;

  • Proactive and results-oriented attitude, team-player with ability to prioritise;

  • Motivation to work within a multinational and multicultural professional environment;

  • Appetite on data interoperability. Knowledge about the Common Information Model standards from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is considered a plus;

  • Ability to work independently and in team setting with competing deadlines;

  • Motivation to work within a multinational and multicultural professional environment.
