ABOUT AIB:
The Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) is an international non-profit organisation uniting the European issuing bodies of energy attribute tracking systems for all energy carriers and technologies.
AIB manages the European Energy Certificate System standard (EECS). AIB also facilitates European transfers of such certificates by operating an IT platform for international transfers of energy certificates between the registries of its members. We strive for harmonisation of rules and practices and operate a quality assurance framework for managing energy certificate systems in Europe. AIB establishes cooperation and exchange of expertise with and between issuing bodies and disclosure bodies, market parties and other stakeholders and transparently provides market activity information and expert information.

While we seek expertise, the job also includes repetitive coordination tasks and requires a willingness to support members effectively. The ability to balance substantive content work with structured administrative and coordination duties is key to succeeding in this position.

YOUR ROLE:
Can you bring structure and expertise to complex discussions? AIB is looking for a skilled coordinator and energy certification expert (-to-be) to facilitate our working groups, ensuring collaboration and progress towards harmonized standards.
- Support of AIB’s working groups, both content-wise (guarantees of origin, renewable energy certification, renewable technologies, policy, etc) and with administration (drafting papers, minuting, follow up actions, …);
- Provide guidance and support to AIB Members to ensure compliance with the EECS Rules;
- Support AIB’s quality assurance system;
- Proactively draft and implement proposals to advance and futureproof the European Energy Certificate System, while balancing the needs and concerns of the members and relevant stakeholders;
- Actively follow-up and analyse relevant policy and legislative developments (guarantees of origin, carbon emissions, RFNBO, Union Database, EU ETS, EN16325, GHG reporting, energy certification, 24/7 carbon free energy, …);
- Active follow-up of the market of guarantees of origin incl. analysis and trend monitoring;
- Back-up and support of other members of the secretariat.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION:
Essential
- Qualifications (Master’s degree) in engineering, economics, energy systems, quality management or a related field;
- Verifiable knowledge of energy certification systems, especially Guarantees of Origin;
- Strong analytical skills, able to develop options;
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English;
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Desirable
- Experience in quality assurance, compliance, or auditing in an energy-related or technical context;
- Familiarity with European energy (market) policies, such as the Renewable Energy Directive;
- At least 4 years of experience in energy markets, guarantees of origin.

- Contract: 0,8 FTE;
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience. Includes meal vouchers, eco vouchers, hospitalization insurance, work-from-home allowance and end-of-year bonus;
- Start date: As soon as possible.

- EU work permit required;
- While this position is based in Brussels, AIB is unable to offer financial assistance for relocation expenses. Candidates should be prepared to bear any moving costs independently.
