At Sirona Technologies, we are developing direct air capture (DAC) technology to remove CO2 from the air and combat climate change. We are a young startup and are now scaling up our prototypes into industrial machines ready for mass production.
We are looking for an exceptional and mission-driven automation engineer to bring our machine to an industrial quality standard. As a member of the core team, you will be expected to rapidly grow your responsibilities in order to help fulfill our ambitious goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an electronics and automation engineer, you will:
- Develop and implement control system architectures, including PLC programming and HMI development;
- Integrate sensors and instrumentation for real-time monitoring of process parameters;
- Analyze data to optimize system performance and provide technical support and training to team members;
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and develop safety protocols;
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, systems engineers, and other team members to integrate systems and clarify part specifications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field;
- 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field;
- Proficient in PLC programming (Ladder, structured text);
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java) for system integration and data analysis;
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, sensor technology, and safety standards;
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Smart but humble, with a bias for action.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development;
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, etc.);
- Experience in the field of direct air capture or related environmental technologies;
- Hands-on experience to support the rest of the team in the workshop.
