SEC Newgate EU, a Brussels-based advocacy and communications consultancy with a global presence as part of the SEC Newgate Group, is seeking a Director to lead its policy team and provide support to public and private sector clients across various industries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic advice to clients on EU policies, regulatory developments, communication strategies, and advocacy opportunities;
- Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of public affairs professionals, fostering growth and collaboration;
- Drive business development by strengthening relationships with existing clients and securing new business opportunities;
- Actively expand SEC Newgate EU’s presence and network within policy-making circles.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in European Affairs, with prior consultancy experience considered a plus;
- Proven expertise in people management, with a track record of leading and developing teams of consultants;
- In-depth understanding of EU institutions and decision-making processes, with expertise in at least one EU policy area such as sustainability, energy, tech or transport (among others);
- Extensive experience in public affairs, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies that enhance issue visibility among policymakers;
- Established network of contacts in Brussels and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships across sectors;
- Strong client management skills and the ability to drive business development;
- Excellent English, with proficiency in at least one other EU language;
- A collaborative team player, eager to mentor and support junior colleagues;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an interest and/or experience in PR/communications complementing a policy-driven role.
