Brussels/Berlin - EPICO e.V. is an innovative independent think tank and network with key stakeholders from politics, business, science, and society. Our mission is to drive forward just and sustainable climate and energy policy. In doing so, we rely on the dynamics of competition and innovation as guiding principles in the development and implementation of viable strategies and clear concepts to achieve climate neutrality and meet the 1.5°C target.
We are looking for a Director for EU Affairs (Energy, Climate, and Industry) to lead our Brussels team’s work managing and expanding EPICO’s network and activities through high-level outreach, enabling further research and analysis at the EU level. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible. Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be held in-person or online, and on a rolling basis.

We are looking for a Director for EU Affairs (Energy, Climate, and Industry) to lead our Brussels team’s work managing and expanding EPICO’s network and activities through high-level outreach, enabling further research and analysis at the EU level. - Type of contract: Open-ended (full time);
- Reporting to: CEO – Dr. Bernd Weber;
- Location: EPICO Brussels, Rue du Commerce, 72.
MAIN TASKS:
- Create and strengthen EPICO's strategic network in Brussels with daily high-level outreach;
- Manage the team´s work on research and analysis of EU policy on Energy, Climate and Industry;
- Expand EPICO´s activities and topics within energy-intensive industries, focusing on the chemical and cement sectors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential
- An exceptional understanding of the EU’s energy and climate ecosystem, and an existing network in the European Parliament, as well as C-levels of companies in relevant industrial sector;
- Good and critical understanding of political and economic contexts in the field of the;
- EU’s energy and climate policy;
- A master's degree in a subject related to EU policy, Economics, Energy Policy (or equivalent);
- Excellent command of English;
- Team spirit, attention to detail and respecting deadlines;
- Proactive and creative mindset;
- Open-minded, empathetic and communicative personality, and can identify with;
- EPICO's mission and values.
Desirable
- 5-10 years of work experience in the field of EU energy policy;
- Good command of German and/or French;
- Related experience in the private sector and/or EU institutions.
