The Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) is a non-profit, pan-European umbrella organisation of national and regional cancer societies. Located in Brussels, ECL provides an exclusive platform for members to collaborate with their international peers, primarily in the areas of cancer prevention, access to medicines and patient support, and creates opportunities to advocate for these issues at the EU level.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are looking for a freelance Deputy Coordinator for our Youth Ambassadors (YA) Programme. The freelance consultant shall provide operational support for the YA Programme, in collaboration with the ECL Secretariat and Executive Board.
This is a consultancy position, at 0.5 to 5 days per month (dependent upon activities for the month and availability of the Deputy Coordinator), at the daily rate of 130€. The person must be able to commit at least 2 days a month until at least the end of 2025. This position can be in-person or remote, and works in collaboration with other members of the ECL team. This person reports to the YA Programme Coordinator.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
As the Deputy Coordinator for the ECL Youth Ambassadors Programme, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Eligibility: If you 1) have a university degree (graduate degree preferred), 2) are a national of the WHO European Region, 3) are fluent in English, 4) have experience or very strong interest in cancer prevention, and 5) have an amazing positive attitude, then we would love to have you on our team.

- Operational support for the coordination of ECL’s Youth Ambassador Programme (YA Programme), under the supervision of the YA Programme Coordinator;
- Annual recruitment of new Youth Ambassadors to the programme;
- Organisation and implementation of the YA Programme’s annual Summer School;
- Organisation of monthly online meetings for Youth Ambassadors, including preparing the agenda and arranging the involvement of speakers and trainers;
- Provide monthly reports to the ECL Secretariat on progress and relevant updates of the YA Programme.
