ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Architect Lead to take charge of the data domain in ENTSO-E.
As the Data Architect Lead, you will play a key role in shaping our data strategy, proposing guidelines, driving improvements, and ensuring high data quality standards. You will work closely with staff across all sections of the ENTSO-E Secretariat, advising, supporting and managing various data related projects. By analysing and organising data, you will help the business retrieve and utilize critical information efficiently.
In this role, you are in charge of designing, implementing, and managing our organisation’s data architecture. You define how data is stored, consumed, integrated, and managed across various data entities, IT systems, and applications using or processing data in some way.
This position also involves collaboration with external vendors, where you will review and challenge proposals to ensure alignment with our defined data strategy. Leading a team of 2-4 data consultants, you will inspire and guide them in achieving key objectives.
The Data Architect Lead is a full-time position based in Brussels within the ICT section. Reporting directly to the Architectures Manager, you will join the Architectures team, which focuses on Architectures, Data, and Interoperability.

- Leading data domain including leading the team and overseeing day-to-day operations;
- Manage and plan the various data projects in ENTSO-E;
- Ensure the business sections have sufficient support related to data;
- Perform business/functional analysis and manage vendors to build, develop or improve systems;
- Oversee design, implementation and maintenance of effective ETL flows, database models, data migration and data visualisations;
- Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines;
- Preparing strategy for technological evolution related to data;
- Measure the quality delivered by vendors and suppliers;.
YOUR PROFILE:
The Data Architect Lead requires the following skills and abilities:
- University degree in computer sciences, IT engineering or data engineering;
- Proven work experience as a Data team lead, Data Architect Lead, Data project manager or similar role (minimum 7 years in a similar role);
- Must have solid project management and organizational skills;
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in databases (e.g. MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL), ETL tools (Talend or similar) and familiarity with visual analytics tools (Tableau or similar);
- Experience in gathering and analysing system requirements;
- Strong analytical skills, able to think strategically;
- Problem-solving attitude, having a good view on the consequences if some risks are not mitigated (and able to explain it to the business);
- Experience in working in an Agile environment;
- Nice to have: Experience with big data tools: Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL, etc. Experience coding in Python or Java. Knowledge of Git, JIRA, Confluence, etc. data mining tools;
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English;
- Ability to work independently and in team setting with competing deadlines;
- Proactive and results-oriented attitude;
