OVERVIEW:
Corporate Services Benelux (CSB) is a joint service that leads on operational support to the UK Diplomatic Missions in Brussels (our Missions to the EU & NATO and our bilateral Embassy to Belgium). CSB also has some responsibility for the Devolved Governments in Brussels and our Luxembourg & The Hague Embassies. We manage and deliver a broad combination of complex operational and strategic work on staff issues (locally recruited and UK based), Finance, IT, Security and Transport. We also manage a shared Residence for all the UK Missions’ high-level entertaining. It is one of the biggest operations in the UK’s Europe Diplomatic Network.
The CSB is now looking for a Corporate Services Officer to support its wide range of operations. CSB is diverse, respectful & values based while seeking to deliver effectively in a friendly manner. BENEFITS AND CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time, permanent contract, for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week, using the flexible/hybrid working model and can be conducted with up to 40% working from home. Staff are expected to be in the office or attending work events 60% of their working week.
The monthly gross salary for this position is €4,518.13 (AO) level. In addition, we offer an extensive salary package, which includes a 13th month, luncheon vouchers, pension scheme, optional hospitalisation insurance (subject to monthly employee contribution), reimbursement of public transport and a lot more. We offer more days of annual leave than the Belgian requirements.
Please note that Belgian nationals will be paid their salary gross and are expected to comply with their tax obligations through completion of a tax return to the Belgian authorities. Non-Belgian nationals will receive their salary net, minus the deduction of an equivalent level of Belgian tax retained at source. Further information on this will be given to candidates during the recruitment process.
Staff recruited locally by the British Diplomatic Missions in Belgium are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Belgian employment law. The successful candidates will be subject to professional background checks and security clearance.

- UK Based Support work (All Tax / VAT related activities, Processing Posting notifications etc.);
- Provide resilience cover for all Administrative Officers in UKB support team;
- Finance processing as required by the Finance Manager;
- Direct Admin support to Chief Operating Officer / Deputy;
- Be responsible for Managing the Brussels Global Expenditure Guide;
- On occasion, support other Teams within Corporate Services Benelux when they have a critical gap;
- Co-ordinate the buddy scheme for new UK-Based and Country Based staff;
- Additional duties, depending on business needs.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Our ideal candidate has:
- Proficiency in English and Dutch, verbal and written (minimum C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
- Relevant academic, work or/and voluntary experience;
- Excellent organisational skills; proven ability to plan and prioritise a variety of tasks independently;
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal;
- Pays attention to detail, is proactive and customer focussed;
- Sensitivity and discretion when handling personal details;
- Solid IT skills with sound working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel;
- Team player who is prepared to step into gaps and support the delivery of CSB objectives across the various disciplines, not exclusively in their own area.
