DESCRIPTION:

We lead the work on the EU framework for corporate transparency, sustainability and human rights due diligence. We have played an important role in setting key legislation in this area - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. Our efforts are focused on meaningful and effective  implementation of these legislation by business, whilst defending them against deregulation, and anti-ESG backlash.

We are coordinating the Alliance for Corporate Transparency, a platform made up of over 20 major non-profit organisations, collaborating with responsible investors, and business leaders.  We are a leading member of the European Coalition for Corporate Justice.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Produce ‘Frankly Speaking - A podcast on responsible business’ in collaboration with the host (Richard Howitt) and support of the communications trainee;

  • Develop,  manage, and optimise our external communications strategy to promote our positions (podcast, social media, website, media presence), collaborating with the policy team and supported by the communications trainee in the implementation;

  • Recognise social media opportunities, analyse audience behaviour and act to increase impact;

  • Collaborate with external communications colleagues and other stakeholders to develop and implement joint initiatives (webinars, press briefings, digital campaigns).

Support and supervision

The Communications Officer will report to the Head of Responsible Companies and Senior Policy Officer. He/she will supervise the work of and receive support from the Communications trainee and members of the Policy and Advocacy team.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience with policy and digital communications strategy development;

  • You have experience in graphic design (Canva, Figma, or Adobe programmes);

  • You have experience or can demonstrate good understanding of EU policy making, corporate responsibility and sustainability topics and are able to quickly familiarise yourself with new topics through research, policy documents or expert publications;

  • You possess excellent organisation skills, English proficiency and want to work in an international environment. French and other EU languages will be an advantage;

  • You are eager to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. We are looking for someone that fits with the team and the organisation. No need to tick all the boxes so if you think the position might suit you, try applying.


HOW TO APPLY:
