JOB PURPOSE:

You will lead the communication and dissemination efforts of FiBL Europe. In this role, you will manage the outreach for Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects, ensuring effective engagement with key stakeholders through social media and targeted messaging. You will play a crucial role in connecting FiBL’s work with policymakers and stakeholders in Brussels, ensuring that our research and projects are visible and impactful. You will be responsible for organizing FiBL Europe’s events, including policy conferences, project final events, and our annual events, such as the Organic Breakfast.

YOUR ROLE AND TASKS:

Communication & Dissemination (70%)

  • Be responsible for the overall communication & dissemination strategy of Horizon projects managed by FiBL Europe. Implement communication & dissemination strategy of specific projects;

  • Identify and act on opportunities to promote the work of FiBL and its research projects. Prepare key messages and use the right channels (website, social media, meetings…);

  • Coordinate the design of communication & dissemination materials of Horizon projects and FiBL Europe events;

  • In cooperation with colleagues in Switzerland, increase presence on social media. Manage FiBL Europe’s LinkedIn page.


Event organisation (30%)

  • Coordinate the organisation of different events in Brussels, including policy conferences, final project events, roundtables with stakeholders and FiBL Europe’s Organic Breakfast;

  • Be responsible for all logistical aspects: venue, catering, registration, promotion;

  • Support colleages in the design of the programme and choice of session formats;

  • Occasionally travel to project sites and events outside Belgium.


YOUR EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • Master’s degree;

  • Experience (minimum 3 years) in communication, dissemination and event organisation, preferably in a research and/or EU-context.


Desirable

  • Affinity for organic agriculture. Understanding of the key principles and practices of organic agriculture;

  • Experience with Horizon 2020 or Horizon Europe projects is considered an advantage.


YOUR SKILLS:

  • Enthusiasm for promoting research findings and a strong ability to recognise their policy relevance;

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication;

  • Strong social media and digital marketing skills, website management skills;

  • Capable of performing basic graphic tasks;

  • Strong organisation skills, respect of deadlines and high level of initiative;

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, self-motivation, adaptability and a desire to work as part of a team;

  • Able to work in an intercultural environment;

  • Curious & creative;

  • Excellent English (CEFR Proficient User C1);

  • Knowledge of German is considered an advantage (CEFR level B1);

  • Knowledge of French is an asset (CEFR level B1).

  • A full-time contract (38 hours/week) for 12 months, with possibility of extension;
