This role is part of the CDSO (Chief Development & Sustainability Office) that leads the implementation of our new 3-year strategic plan Elevate27. The Aging & SME Transversals will deliver on Elevate27 strategic objectives in order to drive Profitable Growth.
These multifaceted Transversals are comprised of:
YOUR ROLE:
The Business Development Lead Aging & SME aims to lead implementation of the strategic Aging & SME Transversals initiative under Elevate27, delivering on the ground results. In doing so, the function will provide reporting to Business Development Committee (incl 2 EXCO members), the Board and Executive Committee, and will collaborate with and influence the 4 business CEOs and senior business executives group-wide. The role will provide thought leadership and vision to a team of Business Developers in the Opcos. The role will require to achieve strategic targets and deliver on the SME & Aging “virtual P&L” linked to the strategic choice tor the level of the group, to ensure we deliver the projected growth to the investors out of those 2 themes:
The role holds a virtual P&L responsibility for SME/Aging as described above, and as such a dotted line to Opco peer group who are mainly at senior manager level (P&L leaders for Aging/SME in the Opcos), including its 2 in a Box counterparties the Heads of Marketing in Ageas Portugal and AG who are part of the local EXCO (HB22+ level).

These multifaceted Transversals are comprised of:
- Aging initiatives focused on taking advantage of the fast growing Aging demographics to outgrow the traditional Life & Savings market with innovative solutions for the Aging segment and deliver an additional 2bn in Assets Under Management by 2027;
- Small & Medium Entreprises initiatives focused on taking advantage of current leading positions in SME Broker markets and developing under penetrated SME Banca markets to “outgrow” the SME market by 2% over the strategic cycle (so 2% on top of budgeted growth of the SME market).
YOUR ROLE:
The Business Development Lead Aging & SME aims to lead implementation of the strategic Aging & SME Transversals initiative under Elevate27, delivering on the ground results. In doing so, the function will provide reporting to Business Development Committee (incl 2 EXCO members), the Board and Executive Committee, and will collaborate with and influence the 4 business CEOs and senior business executives group-wide. The role will provide thought leadership and vision to a team of Business Developers in the Opcos. The role will require to achieve strategic targets and deliver on the SME & Aging “virtual P&L” linked to the strategic choice tor the level of the group, to ensure we deliver the projected growth to the investors out of those 2 themes:
- Delivering a 5.5% growth in Life – i.e. +13B€ AuM – at the level of the group, working with the OpCo’s to drive the new/enhanced product propositions and in particular develop at retirement / post retirement propositions (a gap we have across the group);
- Delivering the 10% growth in Non-life at the level of the group – in particular sharing / developing joint approaches for SME in terms of (i) package propositions, (ii) underwriting – lev. External data/AI, (iii) new solutions (cybersecurity, liability,…).

Your responsibilities include among others:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the 2027 strategic objective for Business Development, focusing on Profitable Growth. Develop and implement long-term strategies for the Aging & SME segments that align with the company's vision and goals;
- Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership to operating companies (Opcos) in developing and executing strategic programs for Aging & SME. Influence and inspire senior leaders and stakeholders to adopt innovative practices and drive change;
- Expertise Utilization: Identify and leverage centres of expertise within the Group to support new projects;
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with local executive teams and key stakeholders to ensure clear support and understanding of local initiatives. Foster strong relationships and maintain open communication channels to facilitate alignment and cooperation;
- Resource Mobilization: Determine project requirements in line with the strategic objectives for both segments and support the mobilization of necessary resources. Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage resource allocation to ensure successful project execution;
- Commercial Support: Support the achievement of commercial, revenue, and business targets through the development and support of Aging & SME. Monitor performance metrics and provide insights to drive business growth;
- Industry Representation: Represent Ageas at industry forums and conferences. Act as a spokesperson for the company, sharing insights and developments in Aging & SME.

- Master’s degree and 15 years of working experience in relevant business, sales & distribution context;
