GMF’s Brussels office seeks a trainee to work on Brussels Forum, GMF’s annual flagship event that brings together high-level international participants from the world of politics, business, media and ideas. This is a paid traineeship.

The trainee working on Brussels Forum 2025 will work closely with senior GMF staff to provide research, logistical and administrative support. The paid traineeship is a unique opportunity to be in close contact with the senior international policy community. Trainees can also benefit from the Brussels and Transatlantic environments and attend various EU-U.S. related digital and in-person events. The trainee will be mainly working with a database system and coordinating participant registrations; GMF will therefore provide him/her with a database training.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Managing, updating and maintaining an extensive database list for Brussels Forum 2025;

  • Acting as the internal point of contact for GMF staff and coordinating all external communication with Brussels Forum participants;

  • Conducting research on speakers and assisting GMF staff in all other operational preparations regarding Brussels Forum;

  • Drafting invitations, event summaries and other pieces as assigned;

  • Assisting with administrative and logistical duties as assigned;

  • Assisting with the Brussels office event management; and

  • Assisting with work related to events in other GMF offices.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REUIREMENTS:

  • Brussels-based candidate;

  • Fluency in English. Second language skills in French or a third European language desired, but not required;

  • Excellent database management skills;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential;

  • Flexibility to multi-task, have an eye for detail, ability to perform under tight deadlines and work independently;

  • Experience in political and digital event management;

  • Strong interest in transatlantic policy issues; and

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.


START AND LENGTH OF TRAINEESHIP:

  • Preferred starting date: October, 2024;

  • Preferred length of traineeship: 7 months;

  • The traineeship will take place in a hybrid format. GMF staff are currently asked to be in the office three days per week.
