Join us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back. argenx is preparing for multi-dimensional expansion to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, and with the potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases.

We are currently looking for an Associate Scientist, with working experience in the laboratory to join our R&D team in our facility in Gent/Zwijnaarde.

The candidate should have a high drive to generate qualitative results together and in tight collaboration with other members of the project team in a professional and challenging fashion. This all happens in a dynamic, informal and stimulating environment where you and your colleagues work to reach the set goals. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Discover, characterize and optimize therapeutic antibodies;

  • Conducting efficacy and immunogenicity assessments of pre-clinical animal studies;

  • Plan and execute experiments independently, including data interpretation and reporting of the results to the project team;

  • Can develop experimental protocols and find solutions for unexpected problems in a creative way;

  • Actively participate in project teams, organize work and understand priorities and completes assignments accordingly;

  • Keen to learn new techniques and to share expertise with others.


Expertise area

  • Biochemical, immunological, and cellular assays;

  • Assay development;

  • Molecular and cellular biology.


PROFILE:

  • Degree Master in Science (Industrial Engineer), Master in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology, Master in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent;

  • A minimum of 4 years industry experience is desirable;

  • Experience in conducting multiparameter flow cytometry experiments is required. Candidate should be able to establish, perform and analyze complex multiparameter flow cytometry experiments;

  • Experience in maintaining cell cultures and establishing cellular assays is required;

  • Experience with spectral flow cytometry is a plus;

  • Experience in establishing complex ELISA protocols is a plus;

  • Experience in methods to determine antibody affinity like BLI or SPR is a plus;

  • Team player, motivated, enthusiastic, accurate in execution and reporting;

  • Good communication and presentation skills;

  • Good oral and writing skills in English.
