The Group of the European People's Party (EPP Group) is the largest political group in the European Parliament. It brings together centre and centre-right pro-European political forces from the Member States of the EU, coming together to advance the goal of a more competitive and democratic Europe, closer to its citizens, and a social market economy. Its multinational Secretariat provides political, administrative and technical support to its MEPs.
DEPARTMENT:
The Parliamentary Work and External Policies Directorates are responsible for assisting MEPs in exercising their parliamentary prerogatives in committees and in plenary sessions. The Directorates coordinate the work of the four standing EPP Working Groups: Legal and Home Affairs, Budget and Structural Policies, Economy and Environment and External Policies.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Administrator advising on parliamentary business fulfils a supranational function within the EPP Group Secretariat and carries out, the following functions and duties:
The post of Administrator advising on policy issues in the Secretariat of the EPP Group requires substantial availability (frequent meetings, irregular working hours), flexibility, good judgment, a methodical approach, discretion, adaptability to varying workloads, and the ability to work effectively in an international environment. Suitable candidates must, among other things, be capable of addressing a wide range of issues and responding rapidly to changing circumstances. Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and data analysis capabilities are essential for performing the aforementioned duties effectively. Additionally, strategic thinking, cross-cultural competence, organizational awareness, and strategic planning are highly desirable for this role.
Frequent travel outside the place of work is required, in particular several days per month in Strasbourg during the plenary session.

INCLUSION ON THE LIST OF SUITABLE CANDIDATES:
The Selection Committee will draw up a list of suitable candidates from among those who have obtained at least 60% of the points for the tests as a whole (written and oral combined) and have obtained the minimum mark required for each of them. The 9 best-scored candidates (3 of German language, 3 of Polish language and 3 of Spanish language) will be listed in order of merit.
Being included on a reserve list does not constitute either a right to nor a guarantee of recruitment.
CONDITIONS OF RECRUITMENT:
Candidates included on the list of suitable candidates will be eligible to be recruited as the need arises in the EPP Group.
Recruitment will be at grade AD5 and several posts are to be filled in.
The list of suitable candidates will have an initial validity of two years. It can be extended. If so, the candidates on the list will be duly informed.
Short-listed candidates who are offered a job will in due course be required to produce the originals of their diploma(s), degree(s) and employment certificates for verification.|

- Participating in and following up of the legislative work of parliamentary committees;
- Assisting the Members in their functions and duties by providing opinions and advise;
- Drafting amendments, briefings, voting lists, minutes, summaries, analysis, notes, etc. on subjects relating to the fields of competence;
- Ensure a good contact and communication inside of the Group and with other political groups and other EU institutions;
- Liaising with other political groups and other EU institutions in the context of ongoing files;
- Organising and following up of meetings;
- Contributing in any activity necessary for the smooth running of the Group.

- A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least four years attested by a diploma;
- At least three years' university-level relevant professional experience similar to the duties as described in the job description acquired after obtaining the required educational qualification indicated in this notice;
- A very good knowledge of English (C1);
- A thorough knowledge of German, Polish or Spanish language (C2);
- Knowledge of other EU languages is an asset;
- Knowledge of the EP’s and of the EPP Group’s Secretariats, their organisation and functioning;
- Knowledge of the rules and procedures in the field of the legislative work;
- A good knowledge of the functioning of the European Union institutions and of the EU policies;
- A very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
